Pasha Hawaii Supports Transpac Logistics

The Transpacific Yacht Club and Pasha Hawaii are pleased to announce Pasha’s logistical support for the 2015 Transpacific Yacht Race, or Transpac. This is the 48th edition of the classic 2225-mile sailing race from Los Angeles to Honolulu, first sailed in 1906, and is one of the world’s greatest yacht races.

Pasha’s addition of their newest roll-on/roll-off vessel to their fleet, the M/V Marjorie C, will this Spring double their capacity to safely and efficiently transport large yachts on trailers returning to the mainland after the race’s finish in Honolulu. The Marjorie C’s wide 35 x 20 foot door opening can accommodate many boats without having to remove their rudders and keels, making commissioning and de-commissioning easier for most boats in the Transpac fleet.

Pasha Hawaii is delighted to be a returning sponsor for the Transpacific Yacht Race. “We really enjoy the opportunity to provide enclosed capacity on our roll-on/roll-off vessels to these beautiful racing yachts,” said Michael Pasha, Director of Business Development of Pasha Hawaii. “Our experience with returning yachts from Hawaii includes entries in the 2013 Transpac Race, as well as yachts that sailed in the 2014 Pacific Cup last summer. It will be our pleasure to provide this service to this year’s Transpac participants.”

For safe and secure delivery, yachts are fitted on their cradles then loaded on 48-foot flatbed trailers that are moved on board as deck cargo with spars secured on the boat’s deck for the trip.

And as part of their support for the race, Pasha Hawaii’s service is now being made more affordable to more participants in the race. “Pasha has revised pricing this year that is very favorable for the sailors competing in the Transpac,” added Pasha.

“This is an excellent opportunity for Transpac entries, and we are pleased to be partnered with Pasha Hawaii,” said Dan Nowlan, Commodore of the Transpac YC. “The long distance and potentially rough weather of the delivery back from Hawaii can produce a lot of wear and tear on any boat, particularly race boats. Pasha Hawaii has now made it now much more affordable to bring your boat home intact, and should be considered by all our race entries in their logistic planning for this race.”

Pasha Hawaii has biweekly service from Honolulu and Hilo to San Diego and soon to Los Angeles as well.
