
UPDATED MONDAY, JULY 7 1400 PDT
The Transpacific Race Committee has received additional information regarding the situation on Ragtime.
On Sunday, July 6, a crewmember was evacuated from the vessel due to a medical issue, approximately 230 miles offshore in a coordinated operation involving the US Coast Guard and the US Air Force. The sailor was airlifted to Scripps Memorial Hospital in San Diego, where they were treated and subsequently released. We’re pleased to report they are now doing well.
At last report, Ragtime was approximately 125 miles offshore, sailing toward San Pedro with an estimated arrival time of 0400 PDT on July 8. All aboard are safe, and families have been notified.

As of 2000 PDT, July 6, 2025, four boats have retired from racing in the 2025 Transpac. Three have safely and successfully returned to the mainland and one is underway.
Race Committee received word at 1800 PDT on Friday, July 4, that J/125 Vortices 2 retired from the race due to rudder issues. All aboard are safe and the vessel has returned to the mainland.
At approximately 1800 PDT on Saturday, July 5, Transpac Race Committee received notification from Reichel/Pugh 63 GoodEnergy that they have retired from the race due to rudder bearing issues. All aboard are safe and the vessel has returned to the mainland.
At 2134 PDT on Saturday, July 5, Race Committee received notice that the Andrews 68 Rock n Roll retired from the race due to an injury onboard. A crewmember sustained an injury from a fall and was taken to Avalon for treatment before transfer to a mainland hospital. The injured crewmember is reported to be in good spirits. Families have been notified. The vessel is proceeding safely to Long Beach with the remainder of the crew. TPYC wishes the injured sailor a full and speedy recovery.
On 1545 PDT, Sunday, July 6, Race Committee received a call from Ragtime reporting they were retiring from the race and heading to San Diego. We are in contact with the team and will provide additional information as it becomes available.

The TPYC would like to acknowledge the efforts of all crews aboard these boats. Simply getting to this starting line is an accomplishment. We look forward to seeing you on the starting line in 2027.
