Aloha to the 50th entry in the 2025 Transpac, the M&M 72 Extreme H20 2.0, a multihull owned by Patrick Benz. The entry list is now at 52 and filling in with a deep pool of talent and the return of many notable racing teams and boats, including 2023 top finishers Dave Moore's Westerly and Roy Disney’s Pyewacket. Some classics with storied pasts in the race include the Bill Lee sled Merlin and the Spencer Ragtime, who had her Transpac debut in 1973. Two TP52s, Akua Kai and Favonius 2, are in it to win it, and the popular fleets of Andrews, Beneteaus, Santa Cruzes and various J/Boats are also stacking up.

The official welcome for the 2025 Transpacific Yacht Race will be on June 28, 2025 on board the USS Iowa in San Pedro! Come join us to celebrate with Hawaiian-themed music, food provided by several of San Pedro’s favorite restaurants, and beverages for purchase, including wine and beer products from our title sponsor Fess Parker Winery and Third Window Brewing. All skippers in attendance will be recognized for the effort they put in to get their boats and crews to the start line.

For many of the skippers and crews who have registered to race in the 2025 Transpac, the event is one they return to time and time again.
Pasadena, California’s Doug Jorgensen agrees with that sentiment. This year, Jorgensen will be making his seventh crossing from Los Angeles to Honolulu racing in the 2025 Transpac. This year also marks the 50th anniversary of Jorgensen’s first time competing in the race, a milestone in his sailing resume.
