We are just nine months out from the first Transpac starts! If you’re thinking about entering this bucket list of a regatta from Los Angeles to Honolulu, here are the steps you need to take to get yourself, your crew and your vessel race-ready:
With 26 boats already registered to race, we look forward to welcoming many more to one of the most amazing on-the-water experiences a sailor can have. See you on the water and at the starting line!

On November 13, 2024, at 6:00pm PT, join Peter Isler for a class aimed at the navigator, but that will also benefit the afterguard and anyone who is going to be looking at the computer screen and considering information coming from the "box" during the race.
Isler is a Transpac and America’s Cup-winning navigator and co-founder of Marine Weather University. He will cover topics such as:
Knowledge is power, and Isler will share his techniques and philosophies for how to maximize the team. Setting strategy, communicating and agreeing on the plan, helping the speed team will all be presented from a navigator's perspective. Don't just send your navigator—anyone involved in helping the boat go fast will benefit from learning about the navigator's toolbox.

When the idea of a long distance race across the Pacific came to the late Clarence MacFarlane of Honolulu, he corresponded with yachtsmen of San Francisco and Los Angeles and succeeded in interesting several of them in a race from the mainland to Honolulu. On April 14, 1906, he sailed his 48ft schooner, La Paloma, from Honolulu to San Francisco to join them for a race back to Waikiki.
But timing is everything. McFarlane arrived 27 days after the Great Earthquake of 1906. Racing out of the Golden Gate was out of the question.
This year, we have partnership categories ranging from race support to division branding and top-tier exclusivity. Put your company front and center digitally through logo placements, press releases and social media. Be visible with sailors and fans through Transpac Program ads, banners and swag. Plus, have a presence at the sought-after socials, where you can meet racers and their guests and share information about your product or service first-hand.
The Transpac Race offers a variety of unique partnership opportunities, such as division sponsorships and the Aloha Party for organizations who are looking to support the race and help create a one-of-a-kind experience for sailors and spectators alike. We invite you to pair your business with one of the world’s greatest ocean races and take advantage of optimal viewership.
If you’re interested in learning more or partnering with us, contact Transpacific Yacht Club Commodore Bill Guilfoyle for more information.
If you’re planning to enter the 2025 race, navigate your way to our customized Nautical Cloud platform where owners can create an account, add basic boat details and officially enter the race with the $250 entry deposit.
Throughout the coming year, owners can continue to use the Nautical Cloud platform to complete the task list to meet all entry requirements. Your crew members will also create their own individual accounts on the platform, and then be added to crew rosters and assigned roles such as Person in Charge, so they can help manage all aspects of the entry process.

We’ve created a detailed Transpac Entry Guide to take you step by step through the entry process, highlight some nuances to the system and answer frequently asked questions. We hope this guide smooths the process for you and your crew, but know that the Entry Committee is available for assistance at entry@transpacyc.com.
